Lids Team Sports is the company that we used last year for girls basketball and for this year's SHS football apparel. Even though their items are fairly high priced and take significantly longer to arrive than any other company, I've heard very few complaints about the quality of their products. Lids is the only company that has the licensing rights to print Nike designs; every other company can only print designs on the t-shirts that they order from NIke. in an effort to compensate us for the delay in last year's shipment, Lids took a significant amount of money off the cost of our new practice uniforms that we intend on wearing this season for practices and non-varsity games. We'll be placing our order about a month earlier this year to avoid experiencing a similar delay again. Sweatshirts are $5 less than in previous sales events and the red polo is being offered for $4 less. The 1/4-zip Elite L/S polo in anthracite should be a really nice item.

Who May Enter: Any student currently enrolled in Sutherland Public Schools.

Deadline: Posters should be given to Alisha by January 31, 2011

Material: White piece of printer paper or card stock -- size must be 8 ½” X 11” Poster must be horizontal, not vertical.

Color & Media: Any choice of color is permitted. Crayons, markers, pencils, or paint can be used. The poster can also be created with a computer and printer.

Design: Posters must be the original work (idea and design) of the student. Designs must NOT use any copyrighted characters, photos, or clip art. Digital pictures are allowed, but they must be taken by the student and permission must be given by any students featured in the picture. The word “Sutherland” must be on the poster.

Divisions are: K-2nd grades 3rd-5th grades 6th-8th grades 9th-12th grades

Entries: Student’s name must NOT be on the FRONT of the poster.
Print the following information on the BACK of the poster:
Full name and grade of student
Full name of parent/guardian
Posters will not be returned.

Winners will be notified by the end of February. Winning posters may be featured on a Foundation banner, brochure, or web page.

The School Beacon messaging system allows the school system to notify parents and the school community by email and text message to cell phones of school closings, late starts, and other school events. The system is unique in that it allows individuals to manage their own message account from the school's website.
