News Release December 15, 2010
Sutherland Public Schools has recently adopted the School Beacon messaging system for digital notification for all grades of the Sutherland Public School.
The School Beacon messaging system allows the school system to notify parents and the school community by email and text message to cell phones of school closings, late starts, and other school events. The system is unique in that it allows individuals to manage their own message account from the school's website.
David Hahn, CEO of New Digital Group, a Lincoln-based technology company which provides School Beacon to many school districts in Nebraska, says that he is pleased to welcome Sutherland Public Schools to the School Beacon family. We are always looking to improve and advance our digital messaging service, and the best way to improve and advance our technology is with our business partners, such as Sutherland Public School.
Dan Keyser, superintendent of Sutherland Public Schools, indicated that "the Sutherland School Board and administration is glad to offer this near instant communication capability for our school community."
