Our Juniors are diving into The Crucible in a unique way—by stepping right into history with a game of Salem 1692 with Mrs. Wilson! 📚 Before cracking open Arthur Miller’s classic, students are experiencing the suspense, strategy, and tension of the Salem Witch Trials firsthand. Learning is at its best when it’s interactive—and we love seeing our Sailors fully engaged! ⚓️

Our Home Ec students have been busy in the kitchen with Mrs. Yauney, and the results are delicious! 🍑🥒🍏 This week, they’ve canned peaches, green beans, dill pickles, dilly beans, salsa, cucumber relish, peach jam, plum jelly, and crab apple jelly. What a lineup of skills (and flavors)! A big THANK YOU to everyone who donated produce—your generosity makes hands-on learning like this possible. ❤️⚓️

Science doesn’t stop for lunch! 🔬 During open campus, a group of curious Sailors stumbled upon a white moth and brought it straight to our resident “bug expert,” science teacher Mrs. Kershner. What followed was a great conversation about species, rarity, and the power of asking questions—even when it means an unexpected lunch guest at the teacher table🪲. We love seeing our Sailors chase curiosity and discover answers! ⚓️

The countdown is over!!! PK-6 back-to-school night is tonight! Join us at 5:30 p.m. in the South Gym. We'll start with a general meeting in the gym, and then students and families will be dismissed to visit their classrooms.

This morning, the halls of Sutherland Public Schools came alive again as we welcomed our incredible staff back for a brand-new school year. We started the day gathered around the table for a welcoming breakfast, generously provided by Adam’s Bank & Trust, as we reconnected and set our sights on the year ahead. After a morning of collaboration and planning, the United Methodist Church Women’s Group spoiled us with a home-cooked luncheon that reminded us just how special it is to be part of a community that supports one another. With a shared sense of purpose, we are ready to SHOW UP for our kids—every single day! Here’s to a great year ahead, Sailor Nation! ⚓️
